 Diamond Heart
Never let you see my fears,
Never let you see my tears,
Frightened eyes, enlightened eyes.

Too many miseries, there's no turning back.
Too many memories…all cast-iron black.
One way path, that's twisted within.
One lonely soul tainted with sin.

Dance on my grave now, be true, be brave.
Remembering the soul you sought to save.
There is a strength that's forged in heat,
But when you found me, who did you meet?

A strange young lady looking for help,
Too proud to cry—beaten like a whelp.
Hid behind fantasies, as old as an elf,
Afraid to trust you….no one but myself.

Poised before a mirror, so ashamed to see-
Hidden inside, there was only me.
Disillusioned eyes, the shape of an almond…
For beneath it all, I have the heart of diamond.
