You reach into my soul and pluck my heartsong;
Your friendship bridges the gulf of my loneliness;
I lift my voice singing into the heavens above me;
For in your short life, Mattie, you touched our souls.
Bringing a simple childlike view to the problems of man;
Lifting up peace, extolling love, honoring wonderment;
I came to your works after you were gone on to heaven.
Your voice pierced my hardened shell with your gentle love.
Your words have inspired my heartsong to our Lord God.
Bringing another wave of peace, of love, of responsibility;
Still echoing in the halls of mankind, you have altered this life.
Even now, you are still weaving the magic of a heartsong.
