In Praise of Older Women
A movie I saw many years ago showed me the variety of beauty.
It honored that which is God's greatest creations, the mature ladies of this world.
I have never been too attracted to the younger girls, they have their own adoring crowds,
As only a passing glance could the most beautiful get from me;
But someone of character, with the etchings of time on their faces…
I am drawn with the fullness of my attention.
Combine this beauty that is enhanced by aging with a personality of joy,
And my whole world stops in praise of older women.
I wonder why men, even when happily married, still desire to appreciate a woman.
What in our nature causes us to stand in awe of vintaged beauty.
Whose glory has been enriched by time and circumstance;
Women in their forties, fifties, sixties, and beyond are like the flowers along the road.
No, I'm not going to pick them, but I will enjoy the gorgeous hues of color.
The variety of God's pallet as He splashes them with attractiveness.
I will only appreciate them, maybe stop and smell their aromas.
I shout into heaven in praise of older women.
The wrinkled brow showing a magnified expression of a smile.
An aged body full of life's experience, plush, alive with vitality;
From queen sized to skinny with all the frequencies in between.
God crowns each with a glory that I have been blessed with eyes to see.
Honoring each with the gift of praise, worthy of the riches of earths bounty.
Only with soured personalities does my head ever turn away,
For never in appearance is one of these older ladies not pretty to me.
I honor these queens voicing my praise of older women.
My life is more alive enjoying the glory of a mature woman.
God's most precious gift to me is the lady I call my wife.
I thank God speaking into the heavens in gratitude of her creation.
I lift my voice in praise of my older woman.
