 Reverence at Sea
As I was sailing in the Caribbean I became aware
Of my insignificance
Of the smallness of me
The vastness of Him
Sitting on my balcony looking out across the sea
I ask myself “Who am I?”, thinking
Of the smallness of me
The vastness of Him
I wonder why I think so much about myself and my needs
Yet so thoughtless of His glory, now aware
Of the smallness of me
The vastness of Him
I ponder about why the Love of God is directed to me
As it engulfs my heart today, thinking
Of the smallness of me
The vastness of Him
My thoughts reach out across the contrasting blues
Of the seas and the sky, thinking
Of the smallness of me
The vastness of Him
I am overcome with a powerful sense of awe at God's creation
A reverence at sea, thinking
Of the smallness of me
The vastness of Him
