Falling when in notable controversy
a season of days of abstinence
moved in sequence through the calendar
from when the saviour gave his life
to this year
eastertide in the first quarter
the tolling bell of contrition
crossed and crossed in memories
of bleeding eyes
the stations passsed from
town to town
and punishment
borne from head to feet
knees scratched on the church floor
and sins like scales vanished
from my soul
hungry for reconciliation
wth christ
and man and animal and creation
the scourge of the stifled days
refrain yet drink in the saviour's sacrifice
Eastertime and Lent are very important times of the year..this is a recollection
of a particular year when the ceremonies and preparation came in a moment of despair
and hopelessness but thankfully the message of Easter healed me.
