Poet's Release
The pain is contained deep within my soul
Yet the facade of happiness is all you see
I am only an actor on this stage, my role is set
The director doesn't wish to see any ad libs
I live without any focus on reality as I walk
Believing that this role I'm playing is my reality
But deep inside, when I am still, I can hear
I hear the voice of my soul crying to be heard
So I sit before the computer, my mind on pause
My fingers dance across the keyboard with grace
The dam has a crack in it's wall as the flow begins
Reality pours from the depths of my being
The words break the chains of the illusion
My eyes are now open to see the truth inside
Freedom is found at the computer today
Opening my heart with a poet's release
