On a day like today
I remember you at play
A lovely day at the beach
Came slowly into reach
As we walked along the sand
You took my trembling hand
Pulling me in close to you
Showing your love so true
You made a vow to be truly mine
Writing it in the sand so fine
To forever be mine in a honest way
A wave came along washing it away
Your vows meant nothing to you
As you left me feeling blue
Now my lonely heart aches
As I watch the ocean waves break
