Why Did Jesus Come as a Baby?

He came to fulfill prophecies from of old
Hundreds of years before, just as foretold
Pointing to a Messiah and coming Savior
Some today still try hard to earn His favor

He came to earth as God in human flesh
To show us His Father in all humbleness
Helpless as an infant, He grew in stature
Perfect, without sin, by His divine nature

He came to rescue man from sins and to save
His mission the cross, victory over the grave
He is eternal, life did not start at Bethlehem
Salvation freely given to all who come to Him

He came relating to weaknesses we endure
Every temptation, emotion, and pain for sure
Immanuel, God with us, He was touchable
By prayer, He is reachable and approachable

He came to make our hope of Heaven secure
He came down, redeemed will go up for sure
Christ living in you is the only way, my friend
Without Him, torture in Hell will be your end

May the true meaning of Christmas fill your soul
Only the blood of Jesus makes you spiritually whole
Problems and sorrows will still come into your life
But Jesus promises you strength in the midst of strife

Isaiah 7:14 (NIV)
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin
will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will
call him Immanuel.

Luke 1:30-31, 34-35 (NIV)
30 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary,
you have found favor with God. 31 You will be with child
and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the
name Jesus.” 34 "How will this be," Mary asked the angel,
"since I am a virgin?" 35 The angel answered, "The Holy
Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High
will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be
called the Son of God.”
