Poetry that thinks out loud

Imagine with me

Its too late now you have done your crime.
Many years to come before you have served your time.
Your family ashamed of you for what you did.
A persons life is what ended.
The person had family and feelings too.
And there loss is all down to you.
Sitting in your cell feeling sorry and sad.
Knowing what you did was beyond just bad.
The person had children now one parent down.
Wondering why their parent is not around.
Christmas time comes to a house full of tears.
All trying to cope with their worst fears.
Dreaming of the day that cell door will permanently unlock.
Just wishing you had the power to turn back the clock.
Imagine if at your hands someone did die.
Maybe theses thoughts can make a better you and I.
Now this storey is not true.
But will it make you think things through.
