Bora born

Bull roarer _

In timeless presence, the dreaming brought forth
sound in a key to reground you in earth.
As a breath through the didge, the spirit's broth
the crisp crystal air cracks the false dawns light.

Warlpiri families, mothers in tribute
their sons' business finished, desert LAW sealed.
Never again their boyhood rekindled
the child lost in words, transformed into men.

The ALL's breath dry, the business carries
the desert air dreams, no animals stir.
Then an echo in thunder to flutter on wings
to rise through the rhythmed chant of old men.

So eerie a sound secret in business
the hidden name, in language never said.
The silent ones gather in reverence
those ageless spirits, fire creatures bless.
