 Whisper
I hear a whisper from the shadow of my life;
These nearly silent words subdue my strife.
From the brightness of life comes stress galore,
Within that whisper, I hear that phrase I adore.
Peace comes from the shadow to my heart;
Pinpointing my needs like a well thrown dart.
You ask, are the shadows as real as the light?
My answer, my friend, the shadow is my delight.
I peer deeply into that dark recess for a vision,
But the murky depths leave me with a decision.
My eyes cannot capture but the shadow of love,
Leaving me to trust in the higher power above.
I listen with attention, my senses are fully alert;
Hoping to hear that whisper from the shadow's skirt.
I lean into the darkness to brush against this being;
I hear the whisper again, I fall in love without seeing.
