The Firm Foundation
I feel good on what I profess,
The strong base of God is timeless;
Unchanging and having a sign,
A solid rock of the Divine.
The Lord knows who belongs to Him,
Never letting their light grow dim;
By whom in the name of the Lord,
Are named and will not be ignored.
It is from evil that they turned away,
Now righteous no longer to stray;
Using their time they can devote,
Learning His words so they can quote.
And on Sunday in a great house,
Going with family and spouse;
For paying homage and respect,
In His Word they will not reject.
For if a man makes himself clean,
No longer tainted as had been;
He will be someone who is pure.
Having the patience to endure.
Righteousness gives faith love and peace,
A clean heart as desires cease;
To be ready to serve the Lord,
Living with Him in one accord.
