 Shooting Stars

Burnt into my retina from my periphery is this dazzling spark;
So quick, so beautiful, so elusive; I search the night sky.
Seeking that dying ember of God's creation outside this earth,
Bringing  the freshness of atomic matter into our realm.

This small pieces of cosmic sand flaming to announce its arrival,
With a flash I am mesmerized by the cycle of universal  exchange.
As mother earth receives the bounty of this material of life;
Awaiting patiently her time to spread her wealth into the darkness.

I look up into the vastness, I am moved to worship the Creator God.
My life becomes opaque as my permanence is only an illusion.
My time needs to be drawn more often to moments like this;
Seeking and scanning, searching with the moment of God.

Time suspends as I enter behind the veil of this creation.
I see the wizard that tricks us into believing in the sham of self preservation;
Reality is not in our home, our job, our bank account, our mountains of stuff.
Reality rests in communion with the Living Creator God of this Universe.
