The Fallen
Darkness has kissed
every inch of me
I'm wounded all over
With knife stabs of betrayal
My bones are broken
My skin pale with remorse
And my eyes
Ashen seats of numbness
Much too used to it all
I'm on my knees, tears lingering on eyelids
Done weeping over torn wings
Awaiting the brink of dawn.
