New Year Blues

I've got the New Year Blues
I don't know what to do,

I close my eyes and pray
For help to get me through,

I guess it's just the thought
Of another tough year ahead,

Doing the same things over again
Wishing I were somewhere else instead,

You know the kind of blues I mean
Where now and than your mind,

Escapes to another place
And drifts away with time,

I know what you must think
I'm truly not that hard to please,

I just want to journey through this year
With a little more care and ease,

I know I'm not alone
There are others just like me,

Who every morning when they awake
Wish they had somewhere else to be,
