Poetry that thinks out loud

Innocent minds

How great it was a to be a child.
Imaginations left to run wild.
Innocent is what we all were.
Of stressful events unaware.

Joy and laughter filled the air.
Realities of life we need not care.
We were safe with adults there.
No bad feelings we could compare.

Oblivious to money and what it's for.
Only that it buys toys sweets and more.
Not knowing what stresses it involves.
Wake up to reality when our life evolves.

We used to play such innocent games.
Worst scenario was being called names.
Always smiling and healthy alike.
They were the days that we all like.
