 Unconscious Coalescence

Blue colors spread, seeping in with the red
As soft cottony thoughts run through my head
Smooth and silky, all words that need be said
The sun is falling, but is not quite dead....

The crystal ball effloresces, a cloud coalesces
Forming familiar faces inside its recesses
Of the lovely lithesome lass with flowing tresses
Then slowly, very slowly, the image deliquesces....

Watch hands spin, time is quickly on the run
Shadows rise and fall as each day is done
Flowers once bloomed profusely, now there are none
I am slowly desiccating beneath rays of the sun....

The girl of my dreams comes to me in the night
If I flicker my eyelids she will surely take flight
Ghost-like her image in the failing of the light
Her dream-figure compliant, I hold on so tight...

It's so good to have a lover who is also a friend
One who commiserates but does not contend
One who radiates truth and never has to pretend
One who knows your quirks from beginning to end....

Crystal ball grows tiny, fading away as I end my dream
Familiar faces race away from my unconscious stream
With first rays of the sun, a new day begins to gleam
As I wake again to reality's world...or so it would seem....
