It was just a simple thing a child's book
that took me back to a younger me
and made me take a second look.

When life gets hard we just try to survive
the sweet simple things seem to slip away
forgotten no time to remember.
The happy times until one day
all the happy memories from back in time
come to light and begin to shine.

When life treats us bad it makes us hard
we don't have time to think about
the little things that make life good
our mind and soul and body is just tired

But the sweet memories are still there
still shining no worst for the ware.

made me take a second look.

A long ago song I sang to my child
in the quite times when things were new
I will keep that memory always close
where I can look at it once in a while.
