 Harmonious Gathering

The Newman Festival is just around the bend,
last year's excitement still echoes in the wind.
I'm not a native of this wonderful town,
but, there's some beautiful people around.
People full of faith and people full of love,
people that share freely without a shove.
How nice is it to see the young children's faces,
in the kid's tractor pull while they have their races.
The vendor's food or crafts are quite a selection,
maybe you'll find something for your collection.
There's a lot of Vets in this town
who stood firmly and held their ground.
Steve Allen is one of these fine men,
his band's music sends patriotism to the wind.
I've seen his band play under sunny skies,
and felt every note with tears in my eyes.
It will be the end of June before we know,
and Newman will put on a fabulous show.
Take a few minutes and give a old friend a call,
invite them to the festival to be with us all.
Take them to the street dance at the Country Junction,
and kick your heels up at this lively function.
When things are winding down before you say your good byes,
go to Memorial Park and watch Dennis Kibler light up the skies.
