 The News

I did my first press release today,
there wasn't a loss for what I had to say.
I spoke of my duty to my country that now torments my mind,
and I spoke of things I've done in life to the present time.
I told the nice lady about how I live,
what I take from life and how much I give.
Basically I said I live in Stantasyland,
which to me is a home that could be seen as bland.
I never watch sports, the news or the weather on TV,
and political discussions aren't heard from me.
Once in a while I'll have a drink or two, now and then,
I broke free from alcohol being my best friend.
My clothes I wear could fit all in one bag,
I eat the same food every day so my belly won't sag.
I've lost 60 lbs. from doing ‘no carbs' and that's a good start,
but, there's still over a hundred pounds I need to depart.
I've had lots of things and lots of possessions,
when I scaled down to the vital I lost my obsessions.
Every six months I go to the VA,
for medications to keep the insanity away.
When the interview was over the nice lady said to me,
“This was my best interview because your words were so free.”
