 How shall I say it?
How shall I say it?
How shall I show it?
How can I explain it?
How will you take it?

I want every inch
Each little cell
Of your skin
To tingle
With the harmony
Of the song of my soul
As my soft lips
Kiss
All of yours…

I want to gaze
Into your eyes
While we hold
Each other naked
And vulnerable
Showing the painful
And tender spots
Where Mothers,
Fathers, siblings, friends
And former lovers
Left eternal
Scars,
And still find
One another
To be intoxicatingly
Beautiful.

I want to
Peel back
The delicate layers
Of the defenses
To your inner sanctum
Even if they are
Booby-trapped
To rip me to shreds
Because I know
That little kid
Who lives inside you
Is literally
Dying for a hug.

Even as you strike me
“She's fat”
Even as you judge me
“freak”
Even as you try to back away
“I gotta go”

Once I see that inner spark
Once I connect to the beauty
Once I feel that I would do anything
For you…
You are stuck with it…
With me.

I love you.
