Not The Best
I know I'm not the best but I try to be
No one's not perfect, at least not me.
I try so hard to understand what you say
But dad I'm not the best, not to you anyway.
I try to be a friend, I try to be a buddy,
I try to be a pal, or even a lover.
I try not to make mistakes but I'm
Not the best, like you or anyone else.
I'm just a lil' girl daddy always says
But does he know I'm mama's girl too.
I'm grown up, I hope he can see that
Cuz I'm not the best at telling him, its true.
I don't steal and I don't cheat,
I don't drink and I don't smoke.
My friend I'd never lie to you
But I'm not the best.
You can call me what you want
Don't worry how I'll feel,
Even though it hurts, I'm
Not the best at hiding it.
