My Son: Dave! I Am So Proud Of Him!!!

And so my son Dave, who we all call ‘Day!
Who has a fantastic job, but has to work away!
But always comes home, and it's a joy to see…
Him walk up the path, to pop in to see me!

He is loved by everyone; he has a daft heart,
Nothings a trouble to him, and his help he'll impart!
He will come and fix that, this and the other,
With a goodness within, and a love for this mother!

I miss him when he's away, but I also understand,
That in his life, the job is always at hand!
And proud of that job this son of mine so earned,
With such hard work and dedication, learned!

Respected by all of his bosses and work pals too!
He gets the job done, and he excels as he'll always do!
In charge of a group of fella's, and he will take no flack,
He gives much respect, he gets much respect back!

Never conceited, nor obnoxious; because that won't do!
He has special training for his job, and so loves it true!
I am so lucky to have him, I'm proud of what he's achieved!
It was worth all the hard work, and the days aggrieved!

For his hard work paid off, and how proud I am of he!
For he's a fantastic person, and a brilliant son to me!

**********************
At the age of just 29, in February 2009:
He was promoted to Corporal!!
He is, of course,
In the Forces!
He's a 'Snow Cap', a Police Officer:
He trains and handles German Shepherd dogs!
And he is fantastic at it too! He loves it!

We miss him so much!!!
We worry when he is in a war zone!
But, as he once said to me;

‘I signed on the dotted line mum, it's my job!'

I love him to bits!
And no matter what..
He is and always will be…

Mummy's Little Soldier!!
