 WHAT MOVIE?
Academy awards last night
Which movie deserved to win
If not SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE
Which other my dear friend

Americans long for the unusual
India is not our common forte'
So which movie would you pick
If you had all the say

One about a wrestler
One about a Queen
One about a man growing younger
Which movie do you deem

Necessary to have an Oscar
Your friend here so wants know
Five dollars it will cost her
In a hour off to the show

Young kids at the theater
Will stare at me and smile
If I wear a bindi
On my forehead for awhile

Maybe they will laugh too
If I put on my Indian clothes
To dress the way another nation does
For now who really knows

The bright colors of India
Play here in my mind
The music leaves me happy
To my life I will be blind

As only India will move me
I will see you in my mind
Traveling trains to work
It's all you that in me will shine

My sun in the East
To see what you see daily
For me will be a feast
Nourishment of Mumbai: save me

From the cowboy way of life
Jeans and lace-up ropers gone
Because I want to be a wife
Of you man who turned me on

To India
I love you
I'm into ya
No other land is true

Just one hour left to know
Cannot await the DVD
Take a bath and off I go
To see what he calls mediocrity

What I call brilliant
The music and the dance
Come out of there resilient
Longing for that Indian romance

Let it take me swirling
Hold hands with myself
As the film is whirling
I will find his country's wealth

In film
In celluloid strips
Have to get prepared now
To see how Mumbai grips

His soul to stay there
USA is not his land
To India I'll go now
Pretend I'm by him hand in hand.
