Making Changes For The Better NOTE: This is more of a personal write, in the form of a prayer to God. I set up a general weekend schedule, with the aim to make better use of my time and have more balance in my life. I commit this weekend plan to You, Lord Desiring with all my heart to do Your Will These changes are not like keeping score Because I know there will be exceptions still But without goals to start, why even bother It all begins with having the right priorities Putting You first and reaching out to others Placing myself last, with all my other duties Even in times of sickness, when I need rest I don't have to abandon my plan completely Caring for my body, You know what is best I can still focus on You and others prayerfully In times when I am weary and get burned out You understand and know all my limitations It is then that I need to refocus without a doubt As to what I can or cannot control in situations The more I focus my attention and eyes on You Developing Your thoughts and actions as my own Then my faith will grow in everything that I do This is my prayer as I daily approach Your throne Hebrews 12:1-2 (NIV) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. © Carol Salter 3/5/09 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
