 The Ten Commandments?

You shall have no other gods before Me.
Most certainly He doesn't mean the commercialism
Worshiped upon the alter of the TV stand each night.

You shall not make yourself and idol made from anything
For I am the Lord your God.
But a Hummer, bass boat, Harley, movie stars, or singers; they get a pass.

You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
Unless you're angry ,
Or you can gain advantage over an enemy or foe.

Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy.
After all, isn't football holy?
Also, you can go to work, for a man's got to eat.

Honor your father and mother.
Just not when visiting them is inconvenient,
Or calling them on the phone is a hassle.

You shall not murder.
Unless it's a war, or a legal abortion,
Or the governments retribution for a heinous criminal act.

You shall not commit adultery.
Yeah, right. But do use your God given ability to deceive,
So that you can keep it hidden from sight.

You shall not steal.
But from work or the government at tax time,
You may make an exception.

You are not to give false testimony against your neighbor.
Except if its juicy gossip dripping with rumor,
Or it helps build your self-esteem through putting another down.

You shall not covet your neighbors wife, house, land, servant, donkey, or anything else.
But if you can only handle one, go with the donkey,
because as we all know, our neighbor's wife is hot!

God gave His commands to Moses engraved in stone by His Own Hand,
But man has twisted and exercised interpretation since the moment they were given.
Jesus was born to write the ten within our hearts of flesh,
To guide our intentions, to harness our desires, then to nail the law to the tree.

Thanks for the clarification, Lord.
