 Butterfly Kisses

Springtime once again brings my heart seeking renewal;
Without rhyme or reason my soul craves nature's beauty.
Reaching out into the blossoming world,
The freshness of life breathes energy into the air.
A butterfly lights on my cheek and touches me with peace;
Butterfly kisses.

The power created in this exchange,
The light touch of my cheek;
Simple emotions of peace and comfort.
Without the bindings of structured relationships,
Just the quiet stillness as the fluttering comes to rest;
Butterfly kisses.

The trust of this creature as my gentleness seems recognized;
The delicate and stunning beauty of her wings.
Her antenna tickles my nose as she rests on my face;
She builds a bridge from her consciousness to mine.
I know this creature now as an equal in this universe;
Butterfly kisses.

Her wings gently oscillate while resting on my cheek,
Creating the sensation across my flesh of a gentle caress.
Her emergence from her chrysalis as she became an adult,
Has not diminished her curiosity as she seeks to know me.
Our differences in species are placed to the side for a moment;
Butterfly kisses.

She lifts her beautiful four wings and takes flight off my face;
She continues the journey of her destiny seeking fulfillment.
I watch her as she drifts into the air finding another of her kind;
These two butterflies begin their courtship dance, I smile.
I know that I shared a moment with her in time experiencing
Butterfly kisses.
