Absorbed
Spending a lot of time with my grandson of late,
I have began to fully understand a mother's state.
It seems as if every cell is completely inundated,
Totally absorbed into this world God has created.
He seeks out knowledge with his searching eyes;
As in every moment with him, my selfishness dies.
No longer is it about what I want or what I need;
We become absorbed in a storybook that I read.
Days are without my normal efficient timetables;
Instead replaced by moments when my life enables.
Dana and I have become closer to each other now,
As he and I become absorbed, I can only say wow!
