 AN ASSERTIVE ADVENTURE
Hard for me to leave this town
The way of life comes down
Flowing out of inside me
Where beauty there is mostly free

Where fun doesn't cost a lot
You're old and you use what you got
To make it through to the next day
Because there isn't any other way

So keep on going
What's inside be knowing
Some true some liars
Sometimes you want someone and passions fires

Burn low
Resentments build
Until the flow
Has yet to yield

Gone gone going...
Tell your self all knowing
Maybe you are wrong
To listen to his song

Just an assertive adventure
Ask him please to take your picture
Go on line for a horoscope
Realize today it's nope

Have to be a friend
Other fences to mend
How I need a father or brother
To somehow discover

I'm just a little girl
In this big world
Trying to make it alone
Texting on my phone

Have to do something different today
Going to another place to play
Dreaming of youth long ago
Here kinda worried to go

On an assertive adventure now
Because what if I screw it up somehow
So I have to tell myself
To many you're a great wealth

And don't forget
In this life---you fit!
