Struggle against Covetousness
What is the cause of wars,
That makes you want to fight;
The enticement that lures,
You as within your sight.
Is it not desires,
Compelling you to war;
That your mind requires,
Invading a far shore.
Your desires do burn,
For putting men to death;
Envious right to earn,
And snuff out all their breath.
You do for your pleasure,
In having mortal sin;
Conquering for treasure,
That corrupts you within.
You are only a fraud,
While being a fool;
With going against God,
Being heartless and cruel.
If you stay on this path,
Then Satan is your guide;
And you will feel the wrath,
Because the Lord hates pride.
