Life

The cycle of life is unreal,
With events so often surreal.
Striving so long for a dream;
Finding it not what it seemed.

No reason or logic will serve,
When life suddenly slips you a curve.
No way for a man to forecast,
How long his good fortune will last.

The Fates are so often unkind,
And Justice, we all know, is blind.
How long can a man just exist,
Shaking an angry, clenched fist?

Our problems are often self made,
With edges as keen as a blade.
Yet how boring to walk through this life,
If there were no struggle or strife.
