Price of Peace
Memorial Day is now a couple of days away;
I am here thinking of the meaning of this day.
Surrounded by the peaceful borders of our land;
The price of peace always demands a stand.
Our freedoms are not without the cost of blood;
Soldiers have fought and fallen face down in the mud.
Bells of freedom and peace on Monday will ring;
The price of peace is counted, we will honor and sing.
I have a shirt with a peace sign screen printed on black;
The sign itself is hundreds of skulls, it can take you aback.
Showing with a simple symbolic statement what we all know;
The price of peace is steep, we honor those we each owe.

What is the Cost of Peace?
Remember those who gave their
lives for our freedom and peace.
