Stars... Moon !
On a cloudless night, visibility is profound;
My grandson and I look up without a sound.
A full moon blanketing the sky with her light;
The Milky Way's millions of stars so bright.
We gaze with wonder into the summer's night;
Words cannot contain our awe, our lips are tight.
The silence is now broken by DJ none too soon;
Pointing into the sky saying, ‘Stars… Moon!'
Our souls permanently bound by what we share;
A shooting star is next, look away, we do not dare.
We are each smiling as we explore the night sky;
This delight in the night excites our soul and eye.
His interest is intense as he absorbs every sight;
As we lie in the truck bed looking into the night.
Temporarily diverting his attention from a TV cartoon;
Now he stares into the sky saying, ‘Stars… Moon!'
