I dreamed I was running to Jesus,
and Jesus was running to me,
I tried hard to touch my sweet savior,
but clouds were all I could see.
I searched and I searched, I was frantic
my heart it refused to let go,
I followed my souls intuition
that lead me down paths I'd not know.
There were times I was sure I saw Jesus,
I'm certain He was holding my hand,
He was gone in a moment so quickly
this I did not understand.
I continued my quest to find Jesus
for a burning grew deep in my heart,
then a voice from within gently whispered
"my child I've been here from the start"
No more running around to find Jesus
this battle is one that is won!
The search of my heart is now over
for Jesus and I are now one.
