Frente al Mar que sus pies usurpa
Es una Palma que sola envejece:
En su rigida forma dibujadas lleva,
Recuerdos de pasiones desaparecidas…
Con el torso encumbrado y desnudo
Al eterno Viento resiste con firmeza
Porque palma que el viento se lleva
Ya no vuelve por mas que se quiera…
Alli en las noches de luna y estrellas
Suspira por amores que nadie sospecha
Y guarda en eterno silencio las Voces
Que el Viento llevar tambien quisiera…
En silencio declama elocuente filosofia
De vida, muerte, amor y soledad;
Y se aferra tambien al debil atardecer,
Como niño triste que teme llegar la noche…
Cuanta ilusion se pierde, se marchita
Cuando se muere con tanto dolor;
Y el Mar sin alma deshace sus raices
Como una Mujer que no sabe querer…
Su sombra se pierde en la Noche fria,
Y nadie viene como ayer a buscarlo,
Porque nadie recuerda como antes era
Fuerte y sereno frente al Mar oscuro…
Quizas en alguna playa distante, quizas
Vuelvas a encontrar otra Palma igual
Que escribirte pueda sutil poemas
Con la sombra de sus manos vacias…
