She's With Me Now
Tenderness was hers to give
For years trying she would forgive
The hurt you pounded in the soul
That gave you all you too this know
I watched from far, the threats you made
To her much smaller today love slave
Punching her into submission
Black were blues your sole mission
Each time we tried to intervene
Family hers would say don't dream
Of even coming in between
Relationship that turned bad dream
Comatose her state of being
In bed broken is all I'm seeing
Her I loved for many years
You she chose who instilled fear
Fear for life, fear of death
Fear you'd leave leaving inept
Her whose world revolved around you
Drank your way dragging her too
The drugs stop now so does the drink
Beatings tough guy more punk don't think
For now she is at peace asleep
Prayers now mine her soul I'll keep
Far from you this gift neglected
Woman I'll make her you rejected
Mine today though frail of state
Promise we will make my soul mate
No need to come around now boy
The days of flinging percieved toy
Have come to meet and end with me
Today my love will set her free
But if you do decide to come
Then come coward and get you some
Black and blues, your specialty
Now dealt by me, her man you see
I'll heal her hurt with hands that care
Patching deep wounds in heart she bares
With hope one day she'll marry me
Forget some thug, my guarantee
She's with me now so keep on walking
Before my hands on you start talking
The song you liked to hear her sing
The beat down cries of suffering
