I am just so comfortable here,

I just love coming here every week,
We laugh and cheer as we meet and greet,
And once again we swing and sway,
As we sing along with a hypnotic beet.

It is so nice as the Pastor prays,
Asking God to bless the sick,
Seems he expects an answer today,
Quick as a dog with a throwing stick.

I've worked hard the six days past,
The seventh truly is restful here,
Did the Pastor say that God evolved from man,
As I dreamed of a an icy cold beer.

Wow – that 40 minutes passed so quick,
Sermon lost in dreary some tones,
But with my face turned fully off,
I enjoy good company – my very own.

The band strikes up and we all stand,
We've just about done with playing Church,
Just the collection plate to pass along,
As I drop in a few coins for the Pastor's perk.

I say I'm excited and will be back for more.
Without missing a step I stride outside,
And missed his admonition not to snore.

But rather looks for lives of sacrifice,
Supporting widows and the oppressed
Sharing the hope of eternal life.

And the floor praises God,
The roof supports the oppressed
And the widows praise God.
