A World We would be Happy to live in (Non-poetic format)
The world's matrix presses in, even in the inner sanctum, and I cry and weep at the sound of humanity, doing nothing.
Not enough people know personally the 5000 men who died across the sea in choking desert plains, so we continue to entertain ourselves.
We'd rather twitter, than lift a finger, and cry in rage, at the deaths that silently heap around us, because the media keeps us numb.
News FLASH: Comic-Con is not just for Geeks, and show us women, cover the news, rather than report it. 200,000 may have died in Darfur and they bicker on how close to the truth is may be, yet not even 5,000 U.S soldiers is enough to stir US.
While the streets of New Orleans are still laid to waste, & racists are put in charge of Border security, in Charge of our Homeland Security.
Homeland, which was stolen, murdered and killed for, the lives of Native Americans whose blood still stains our collective hands.
What is it we think we deserve? Life? Love? Clean Water? Food? Health care? at what price? Who pays it? Who will we decide lives or dies?
We are already deciding, by our lack of actions, our apathy, our desire to feel good by entertainment, the American Drug of choice...
It takes an enemy we can see to unite us, more often than not, and distraction keeps us from what should be our honor, to take action for humanity's sake.
First should be that we are united as Human Beings, not men and women, or Christian and Muslim... first always, there is US, WE, the People. All is one. We are also. Our collective actions and inactions affect US all! We all seek a better world, and both our blessing & curse is that we cannot agree on what we see as that future.
I wish for us, so much... that it is my heart breaking you hear. It is my eyes crying, you feel, and it is my soul tearing asunder, you see. I only ask that each moment, you momentarily awaken, you do something, act, to benefit us all, and make this world a place, we would be happy to live in.
