For Michael ( My Inspiration )

When I see your smile it brightens my day
When I hear your innocent laugh
It takes my breath away,

In your eyes I see strength and courage
And words not yet spoken,

In your voice I hear truth and wisdom
And a spirit which cannot be broken,

I am humbled by your gift of a generous heart
And your ability to see the good in us all,

I am blessed to be able to say I love you
In a room of many I stand proud and tall,

You taught us to look inside ourselves
And to be all we could be,

To take a look in the mirror
Now what do you see?

All this inspiration comes from your own words
Which are straight from your heart,

That is why we cherish and love you
We will never let you part,

You inspire us with you faith and love
I sometimes believe you were an Angel
Sent from God above,

But the world was not ready
For your words of peace and love,

So they criticised and mocked
All you tried to do,

This is why I believe God called you home
And told the Angels to come for you,

Now it is time to Rest in Peace
It is time for your battered soul to heal,

Your spirit will always shine
In our hearts so bright,

To bring us joy and everlasting light
