West Country Girl...

There was this raven haired beauty,
Who's vision could light up a room;
The memories of her glowing
I will take with me to my tomb.

She was a west country girl,
Gentle, calm and serene;
Had a Mediterranean look about her
She was every mans dream;

I even tried to paint her!
But justice I could not give;
Just like my vows and promises
Fell like water through a sieve;

I heard she done really well,
I hear that she's doing fine;
I wonder did she forgive me?
And closed that portal in time?

I sometimes think about her
When I am at my lowest ebb;
I thought the grass was greener
Trapped in the gamblers web;

I can still see her smiling,
Locked in my memories file;
I have to say for the record
She had the most beautiful big brown eyes;
