 New Pair of Shoes
Such a sweet feeling is sliding my foot into a new pair of shoes;
My feet are singing a different song, no long singing the blues.
Searching for weeks for that right pair that speaks to my feet;
Knowing them at first glance, instant romance; feeling really neat.
These shoes sparkle in my eye as I look at their cut and sporty lines;
Arch support is heavily cushioned; I smile, yes, I know the signs.
My foot enters the opening and I am hugged by these shoe's soul;
I gentle snug the laces, double knot the bow; now I'm ready to roll.
Out into the street, my stride begins to lengthen, I begin to run;
Floating in heavenly clouds over the pavement, these shoes have won.
Well worth whatever the cost for this feeling of freedom and delight;
With this new pair of shoes, I can run from daybreak into the night.
