Hold back the tides
Await the dawning of a new day
Count down the days to leaving for far off shores
where winter days are short
50 days
A 100, 200, a thousand?
What matter it when time is irrelevant
to one who holds love so deeply as you do!
The days are naught but drudgery!
A heart empty and barren
Removed from the source of one's desire
The fire within
Fiercely strong
Passionately burning without recess
Churning up the mind with excesses of imagination
Overwhelming the vacancy held deep within
So keep counting those days
Keep holding back the tides
Keep hoping for that change of heart
One day perhaps,
Who knows it may happen
When two hearts beat as one
And love returns to fill the empty void
