 Dancin' In Elmwood Park

Last night, my wife and I enjoyed dancin' in Elmwood Park;
The band was outstanding, the music guided our feet.
The sounds cascaded off the skyscrapers of downtown;
As under the stars we moved on the crowded dance floor.
An evening at Elmwood, dancing whenever the music played;
My partner and I enjoying the spirit of the masses pressing in.
From the dance floor we sucked in the energy of this group;
Thriving on the power of one another, reaching into the soul.
Some folks dancing, shaggin' like at one of those beach clubs;
Others reaching back into their memories jitterbugging away.
Some of the younger crowd, dancing with vim, vigor, and flare;
But everyone swaying to the beat of the band, moving to that beat.
This was the last outdoor party of the year at Elmwood Park;
Moving indoors as the autumn gets crisper, and winter sets in.
We will enjoy the indoor venues as well, but nothing is like the sky
Being your ceiling, the stars your lighting, the moon your disco ball.
Unable to fully describe the energy of this outdoor extravaganza;
Last night, my wife and I enjoyed dancin' in Elmwood Park.
