Peaceful Stillness
Calm rests on my soul today, resilient against the tides.
Reality blasts away at my foundation, attacks my mind;
Yet, somewhere in my depths resides a peaceful stillness.
Relaxed along a babbling brook, leaves gently falling;
Sitting under an oak tree, as autumn changes the flora.
Reds, oranges, purples, yellows; ablaze in a forest of color;
My thoughts slow down, my breath is deep, I find the quiet.
I still know the turmoil that rages waiting at my gate outside;
As I prepare myself for walking today in peaceful stillness.
Calm rests on my soul today, resilient against the tides.
