Poetry that thinks out loud

THE FINAL DANCE

As the music played they were together;
Seemed they'd known each other forever.
For one last time they slowly danced
And in to each others eyes they glanced.

For a few minutes their youth was restored;
Sharing a dance with whom they adored.
They'd lived a life of special times;
‘til the clock of life eventually chimes.

They had both cherished life on earth
And understood what life was worth.
The love they had kept them paired
And nothing they ever knew compared.

The night was quiet with no one about
As they danced the peaceful music out.
Seemed they had now danced through life
As the partnership of husband and wife.
