The Drifter ..part two.

Now  then, were was I , oh yes!………..

The damsel could not sleep, the drifter became an obsession,
She wanted to seek him out! Seek him out and use discretion,
The summer light it was fading,  she lay on her pillow in slumber,
Dreaming of the drifter, and how she could get his number……..

  Weeks passed so swiftly, September  slammed summers door;
That fateful day arrived, when the drifter passed by once more;
As the damsel was cleaning her windows, the drifter he did say,
Here is a gift ..the sketch I done of you! On that hot summers day.

The ice was therefore broken, the damsel gave a smile.
A sadness then attacked her, she hadn't felt like this in a while;
She looked up at the drifter, and thought were have you been…
Saying to herself, this is it! This he! The man of my dreams……..

The drifters hands was shaking, as he handed her the sketch,
Her face was one of embarrassment, feeling like a wretch;
The drifter he just smiled, thinking my god she's got my vote,
I hope she turns the page, and sees my number that I wrote;

To be continued………….
