So obscene to see the surreal as serene
Back drops persuade those eager to evade
Never once considering that you have indeed betrayed
Those innocent gestures meant to keep you in stride
So easily overcome by thoughts of those you push cold-heartedly aside
Swept behind excuses that bind
There's just never enough room
There's never enough time
To openly invite them into your heart, let alone into your mind
And beyond words
Beyond silly poetry
You hurt the ones that are your futures treasures, you see?
And all these years I thought it was me that did nothing but seek defeat
Pills falling from my pockets like rats rushing against my feet
Should I call Termenex?
Or openly accept what's coming my way next?
Those little inevitable things, life altering and world toppling
Getting closer all the time
Turning pages
Each day a little faster than the rest
She's defying the need that time undoubtedly pulls and tugs at her to nest
This baby she must remember will now and forever outweigh
And gives her endless purpose to live day after day
Oh she opens up her heart
And bounds the temptations
That she then eventually taunts to start
So then as all stories go the rain begins to fall
and fall
and fall
At first most salient and delicate
So very much like snow
She tilts her head back and catches snowflakes on her tongue
Her pale cheeks blushing brightly in the cold
Thinking to her self as they quickly melt,
How unique and peculiar each and every flake quintessentially is
And how their long and tumbling fall from the sky
Lead in parallel flurries softly as they floated down directly into her
To melt within her
To ultimately become a part of her
Such simple things
Have such an inviting ring
Hypnotized and forever mesmerized by the joys they can unselfishly bring
