Walking hand in hand on the beach,
toes kicking up soft sand,
seagulls flying high above...
Picture this: a moment of love.
Let's write a verse or two;
One for me, the other for you,
put the note inside a bottle
and cast it into the sea.
We'll pretend in some distant land,
on an island far away from here,
some one will read our little love note
and smile...
All the while not knowing
our love is barely growing.
Not quite "love",
but just sweet passion
still in the delicate phases of:
passing the time by simply laughing;
little hearts drawn on colorful paper
with our names inside like we're meant to be;
Quick kisses by my locker, so no one will see;
Long talks on the phone about nothing that's important...
"You hang up first...No, you..."
Both of us wondering if the relationship is worth it.
I'm afraid of what your answer might be,
so I'll ask in a whisper "will you hurt me?"
Who knows what's in store for the both of us.
Will we gain love or even trust?
Will you treat me right with my best interests in mind
or are you just a waste of my time?
Let's cast that bottle inside the ocean
and walk away silently hoping
that the simple wish, which was cast in the sea,
will come true for you and me.
Let's take this patiently;
Take this thing one day at a time.
No pressure...slowing down is fine...
Don't rush into it, please do take care
because half the fun is getting there
and the other half is falling.
So, Sweet Love, just imagine...
We might just one day cast that bottle
and maybe, just maybe the message will be true.
