Select Poetry & Prose of Poetrypoem Writers

ABOUT SELECTPOETRYANDPROSE (SPP)

HISTORY OF SELECTPOETRY

Formerly called 'selectpoetry', this exciting endeavor began on September 28, 2009. It was inspired by the vision of one of poetrypoem's writers.

Soon after the creation of selectpoetry, a panel of peers was assembled to help bring diversity in perspectives as well as help choose what was once called the "Choice of Day" highlight and summary.

We are pleased to say that selectpoetry (now called selectpoetryandprose) has and will continue to be a credible, reputable, and professional resource.

As of October 11, 2010, the original selectpoetry site had a site read count of 35,795.

ARCHIVE OF WORKS

You will see that selectpoetry maintained a database of highlighted works. SPP will continue to keep an archive for historical purposes; to always make available the author's name, site name, and title, to anyone that wishes to visit their respective site!

SPP'S FUNCTION & GOAL

Selectpoetryandprose (SPP) main function is to provide a service to poetrypoem and its abundance of talented writers by creating a unique way to give recognition.

Our goal is to highlight authors and their creativity and to enhance the reader's experience by providing a way to connect, share, encourage and inspire others.

WHY SPP EXISTS

To give more substance and meaning through featuring writers; providing well-deserved and earned recognition to their talents.

OPERATED BY

This site is operated by a panel of peers. We continually strive to bring a diverse selection in the poems or prose that we feature.

You'll find we take our commission seriously by operating by a code of conduct and guidelines.

HIGHLIGHT SCHEDULE

As you can imagine the "Choice of Day" challenge was not only fulfilling and fun, but also a lot of work and responsibility. The panel spends hours reviewing the Top 100 on homepage, as well as perusing through poetry sites looking for a poem/prose to highlight.

The panel has decided to come up with a new highlight schedule:

Mid-Week AND Weekend (typically this will be on a Wednesday, and a Saturday or Sunday).

SUBJECTIVITY OF CREATIVE WRITING

All poetry is subjective in nature. This site is dedicated to doing its best to bring you something you may find more meaningful and helpful to you as a reader.

There are SO many great poems/prose from which to choose, and you never know when SPP is reading you.

To all of you, we say THANK YOU!

May inspiration always give you that sparkle in heart and mind to keep writing!
