Just had a brainstorm. I get them early in the morning and I think this is a good one. I left a message on Ronnie's phone and I called Karen (his wife), who welcomed this idea. Ronnie has been discharged from the hospital, but he needs care and transportation to doctors, dialysis treatments and now a methadone clinic. He and Karen have recently rented a house that they share with my granddaughter Ashley, her husband and three small children. There are about 15 steps and a rickety banister leading to Ronnie and Karen's basement apartment. There are times when he can't walk, which makes it almost impossible for him to leave his apartment. They have arranged for a home health aide to help him shower a couple of times a week. Before he was hospitalized last week, he lost his appetite and wouldn't eat a thing. Karen works as a recreation aide at a nursing home located just a few blocks from my apartment. I have a beautiful one-bedroom co-op apartment on the ground floor with a sliding glass door leading to my porch (No steps to worry about). I told Karen this morning that when I return from California after Mother's Day weekend, Ronnie is welcome to spend every day at my house. She can drive him here in the morning when she goes to work and take him home after work. I'm a good cook and he enjoys my cooking. In addition, all the places he needs to go to for treatment, etc., are located closer to my home than theirs. I'm 85 years old, but God has blessed me with reasonably good health and a brain that is still working. I pray that Ronnie agrees to do this and may God hear my prayers. Love, Annette
